Birds of prey from the SF Zoo

It was amazing to see these birds so close up. They were all tethered to a post so it made it easy to get close. All of them had something or other wrong with them. One has been hit by a car, I don't remember about the other ones.
I wish I would have bought a pen and paper to write down what each one was but hopefully somebody will chime in with the name.
A falcon, this was the only pic I got of him. Not sure if the camera scared him or what but as soon as I took this he started trying to fly. He was tied to the post with a bungee cord so he just kept bouncing back, kinda sad really.
I believe this was a juvenile eagle :dunno
One more:
This guy was on Eagle Island. Him and his mate are not releasable back into the wild but can still live out side. He was guarding a nest box. We watched him for about 15 minutes and all he did was turn his head, constantly watching what was going on.
Thanks for looking, comments always appreciated,
Eric

Nice shots. That looks like a great place to shoot.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

He never once moved his body, just his head. I think he was protecting his nest box with the mother eagle in it.

I wish it was in the wild but seeing as how I couldn't get that close in wild I guess I'll have to settle for these opportunities

looks like you and the 70-200 were made for each other
If I had known how much I would like this lens I would have goten it sooner. I'm still having a little learning curve with it. On moving objects, like ducks, I have a hard time getting a really sharp pic. But with practice it will come.
