Suggestion for how to Watermark many galleries at once?

So I think I have an acceptable watermark finally. Now I want to go and apply it to all my galleries. My understanding from e-mailing with the Support Heroes is that "Like passwords, watermarks will not be added when using apply to other galleries - you need to do this individually. "
So has anyone found a really cool way to do this process? I have about 180 galleries/albums and probably want to do about 150 of them.
Also has anyone found a way to have the watermark change or rotate based on orientation of the image?
I have even toyed with the idea of reuploading them all so that links are broken and the watermarks will appear, but I am not sure I want to be that draconian.
Thanks.

I have learned with Smugmug to have a horizontal and a vertical watermark for my images. I even have several versions based on the event I shoot so I do not obscure the most important part of it. When I create my galleries I use a pre-defined settings for the gallery but, one that is already up is one by one.. It has always been thus...

Now, here's an idea, but it will require you to re-upload every image that you want watermarked. Set a gallery to watermark from now on, and then use the 'replace photo' option in the uploader and re-upload all the photos in the gallery. These new uploads should be watermarked, I believe.
