Once Upon A Wedding

Wanna shoot a wedding, but not sure if you're worthy?
Need an experience but don't want to risk ruining somebody's Most Important Day?

Well, here's one way to do it:-)
My teen daughter Helen has a fair collection of stuffed animals. If you think the life of Friends, Wisteria Lane or Sims is complicated - well, you better stay away from the relationships between bears, dogs, horsies, apes and even one gorilla inhabiting all four bedrooms of our modest two storied house.

One of the animals is everybody's best friend - Cow. She was brought to our family few years ago from cold, foggy San Francisco.
And since that time she was desperately looking for a mate - but no one could be found.
Finally, couple weeks ago the search was over. A young, wealthy bull named Vassily offered his heart to our little princess. Of course, she has accepted.

And today, on a lovely Sunday 17th 2005 the reverend Moo-se has conducted the cere-moo-ny, and the happy couple could say theirs "I moo!"

Below are few pictures from the whole set, which can be found here: http://nik.smugmug.com/gallery/666573

Down the isle

"Moo you, Cow?"

"You can kiss the bride" (Check the rock!)

The groom is not cheap

Off to a honey-moo-n!

The end!

Although it was not my first "stuffed" wedding, I was surprised how much it looks like a real thing.
I used my 828, two strobes (Sony HVL F32X and Sunpak 555 as slave) and I had to experience all the usual challenges - timing, rapid change of light/distance, dark "moody" indoors..

All in all, if your daughter asks you could you be a wedding photog for her Barbie - try it, you may get some nice exercise:-)

As Andy would say - enjoy stuffed photography!

That was quite a production. Interesting excercise that I never would have thought of. Thanks for the ideas.

I think the dgrin problems had a adverse affect on Nik this weekend. I kinda wonder if it was really a "daddy can you be the...." or if it was more like an inner voice saying "need a fix, gotta shoot something, need a fix, wifes gone, kids gone, what can I shoot. Stuffed animals wooohooooo. Hmmm what will the animals be doing, hmmm. Having a wedding and I can blame it on the daughter, muahahahaha....":D

This is just too cute! Were you not invited to the reception?

Maybe they couldn't afford a big reception because everyone on both sides of the family has 4 stomachs. rolleyes1.gif
