Well I have finally found time to get back to what I started in Iraq this year and that is Photography. I got the RebelXTI and my Canon 50mm out of the case. I asked my wife to pose for me and here are a few pictures. Let me know what you think. Oh I did some skin softening in Lightroom as well. This was my first time using it. I'll get there oneday:wink .

Welcome home, and thank you for your service!

A straight-on shot like the first rarely works out well. The way she is oriented in the second is a much better angle. Unfortunately you cut her hand off at the wrist which is a bit of a no-no (cut-off limbs should be mid-joint).

In general, I'd suggest getting out of the door frames, and try to get a bit of light that moves across the body to get more interesting shadow and variation.

    Keep warm up there....

Thanks I will keep that in mind. Oh yes it's very cold up here now, I want to say it's about 20 below today.

Jerel - your service (and your wife's sacrifices, too) are much appreciated. deal.gif

There's quite a few Alaskans here at DGrin - ColdClimb and PrezWoods come to mind - but I'm not sure if they are from Fairbanks or not.
