whats the qualification to get a picture and a link to your page listed on the front page like some others? is it the top few photographers or are they picked randomly after a certain amount of time?

or perhaps i just dont understand what getting your "mug" on smugmug means. :scratch

The other thing I have wondered about is how are the pictures at the top of the dgrin page picked? Is there a way to find more pictures by those photographers?

The pics are chosen by Andy. If you hold your mouse over the pic you'll get the dgrin name of the person. Search them on dgrin and if they have a smugmug homepage in their profile, you can see more of their pics.

I pick the mugs on smugmug's home page. There goal is to show prospective subscribers examples of the kinds of customers we have, what their sites look like, what kinds of photos they shoot, etc. So I picked Mike Lane as an example of great customization who also takes great photos, etc.

We're stunned at how popular browsing is on the site and we'd love to improve that as well — so you could find collections of great landscapes if you wanted, for example. But that's not really the objective of the home page panel on the right.

Andy submitted new photos for the top of Digital Grin but I haven't put them up yet. :uhoh

    Thanks,
    Baldy
