    I like how this shot is split into three portions, and the color is lovely. But there is still something about this that isn't quite as compelling, and I think it may be because the subject isn't clearly defined. But as an abstract, great thumb.gif

    Strong components
    A Hdr shot i did of a pier of the sunset c&c welcome.
    You captured the light.

    The image has some strong compositional elements, but they are primarily horizontal. In a vertical format, these elements soon direct the eye off the image, limiting their impact. With the image as is, a square cropping might be more powerful. The elements could be enhanced in a horizontal layout in a reshoot.

    I echo schmoo and dbd's comments. Also, the sky peeking out below the railing doesn't match up colorwise with the rest of the sky above the railing.
    I see the world through a 3:2 rectangle.
