Is there a way to do this other than using the API?

I'm not sure what exactly you're trying to do, but Smugmug shows those counts right in your page if you don't have "clean" set on your galleries. See the number of images in my categories and sub-categories here: http://jfriend.smugmug.com/galleries.

I must have the galleries set to 'clean'. Would I have to modify each of the galleries to get a complete count for a sub-cat?

I was afraid of that. There's hundreds. I'll have to use the API somehow to get the info I want.

If you want to change all galleries in your site, you can do that easily. Go to gallery options for one gallery. Select multiple galleries at the top, then pick all galleries, then put a checkmark by the one setting you want to change, then set it to the value you want, then hit Save. It should change that one setting on all your galleries.

    Thank you for the tip.

Unfortunately, because of how long it takes for the gallery list to populate and the number of clicks required to add a gallery to the list of galleries to apply, it's actually easier to open each gallery in a different window and effect the changes that way. And this still would take a long time. I can't figure out an easy way to do this other than using the API. ne_nau.gifheadscratch.gif Any other suggestions?

If you want to do it for ALL galleries, there's a single setting for that. If you have to pick 100's of galleries individually, that would take awhile. I sure wish Smugmug would have let you select categories or sub-categories to apply a setting to all galleries within that container. Such an obvious feature (that is present already in SmugBrowser), I'm not sure why they left it out. You could also just use SmugBrowser and change in on whole categories at a time.

Yeah, I need it on just a sub-cat and only to check how many images are there. I'll have to check out smugbrowser again, but it crashed when I tried using it the first time.

I just tried setting a gallery's "clean" setting to no, and I still get no count of the number of pictures in the gallery. headscratch.gif I'm searching my CSS now to see if there's anything there that looks like it affects this, but any assistance appreciated.
