search not really working for me

I was wondering why search doesn't allow me to use multiple words in a keyword search?
For instance
searching for all photos with the tag 'pedal pale ale' fails to return any results under keywords, but finds galleries and individual photos
http://www.jonpratt.com/search/index.mg?searchWords=pedal+pale+ale&searchType=InUser&NickName=mtnbiker&x=0&y=0
I've tried
pedal pale ale
'pedal pale ale'
"pedal pale ale"
if I use it in a URL it works.
