High School Swim Meet

I got the chance to shoot some kids during a High School Swim Meet this past Saturday in Mobile, AL. This was the first time shooting an event like this and my equipment isn't really suited to it as I usually shoot full-size and model aircraft (Canon Rebel XTi (8mp), Canon 75-300 EF, Canon 18-55 EF-S, and a Canon 430EX II Flash). I ran the ISO up to 1600 (the highest on my camera) and mounted the flash on Auto angled up slightly with a white card rubber-banded to it to bounce and diffuse it some rather than it being direct. The lighting in the aquatic center wasn't as bad as I thought it might be, but it could have been much better, about every other light was burned out or not on. State is in two weeks and my room-mates son will be swimming in it. Hopefully I'll do better at that one.
