Not sure which of these two versions I prefer. Thoughts?

I prefer the second one. I suppose the rule of thirds comes into play here.

i prefer the second one, too. the road seems to grab my attention more in the 2nd photo.

Thanks for the feedback, Puzzlerjo and dsloan. I am leaning towards the first one myself, but I'm still undecided...

I think I prefer the first one b/c in number 2 the big yellow sign grabs my attention and my eyes never seem to go anywhere but the middle, but with 1 my eyes start adn the bottom right corner and then go around the road, the signs are as obtrusive.

The first to me, but crop out most of the sky as that is where the eye goes and look at your title for the shot. Once you get rid of most of the sky you are left with an interesting panorama and the sign makes sense.

I also like no. 1 because of the offset sign, but in addition to cropping the sky, I would also crop to the left of the road. I think the road looks good to the left of the frame as in no. 2.

Thanks for the feedback, guys. In #1, I like the whole sky and the left-side hills because they add to the scene. Despite the title, the photo is about the whole, not just the road. I will still play with the cropping later, though.
