I bought a used D70 and several widgets from B&H recently.
Pulled out the D70 to do the obligatory annual family portrait, and couldn't find a plug point for the remote..
something tells me this ain't for my D70.. anybody know?

What you may want to consider:
ML-L3

A number of people also report that generic/universal IR remote control units may also work:

Edit: Googling around and I'm starting to think the D70 doesn't have a release port. The D70s model has and your connector is the right one for that. There are IR-remotes for the D70 though.

Canon uses multiple connectors for wired remote control.

They use N3 and E3, as far as I know. Do you know of a another one?
This however is a D70s / D80 release connector.

yeah---didn't look like a Nikon kinda thing either..
the quality of this remote is something you'd expect to be "made in china" - - it's totally cheap....
I'm thinking that the "T3" is another older connector, but I'm not completely sure. I'm still researching.
Edit: I found it. While it "was" a connector, it apparently is no longer in use. Best information here:

Nevermind, it's just me showing my age. It, of course looks nothing like the image the OP showed.

But if you have older Canon T3 type extensions or remote release equipment you wish to use on a newer Canon camera, you can purchase an adaptor:

I have one for these reasons. And yes, I realise this has nothing to do with the OP.
On page 107 of the D70 owners manual it states the use of a ML-3 remote for self portraits......etc etc.......if you still have your owners manual you can look at page 107 for all the info...............
Nikon ML-3 on Ebay......kinda pricy.......
Good Luck
thx.. guess i'll pop off an email to the boys at B&H.. I already found a knock-off remote for $10 which claims to be 100% compatible.. guess i'll see if they'll give the money towards the SB600 which i need......
