HAVE a MULTI FLASH DILEMMA

i am in need of a mult flash connector that will allow upto 3 flashes (speedlites) to be connected together + a wireless trigger receiver.

Anyone have any ideas on where one might be found??

Reason for this....I will be selling off my Sunpak 622's and replcing with Vivatar 285HV's using a Multi-flash bracket, that will hold upto 3 flashes....but it ill be just 2 most of the time as my quantum batts will run 2 flashes at once.
This iwll make umbrella and softbox use much easier......I love my 622's but they are a PIA when it comes to umbrella or other studio modifier use......

Art, If i understand you correctly you want to trigger multi speedlights off your current single wireless (cactus). Look at the SC-17 cord and AS-E900 coolpix cords, they can be joined together. Give me some more info, and I may be able to test it for you. I have the those cables, SB-600, Sunpack RD-2000 and a Vivitar 730 and a RF-602 wireless trigger.
I just shortened my SC-17 to work with a rotating bracket. My SB-600 is mounted on that and then I have the AS-E900 attached and mounted under the bracket, to fire the Sunpack, it works. Never tried the cables with the wireless and the Vivitar flash.

    Good Luck

Tested today: I used the RF-602 with the SC-17 and AS-E900 both flashes fired as they should. Now the RF is a hot show mount, I thought yours were 1/4 jacks, if so you may want to think about getting a new wireless setup for your speedlights. it may be easier and cheaper in the long run.

Thanks for the answers and your time
Found this very old Irving Camera 4-way flash sync adapter at a local Camera Store yesterday......priced originally at 13.95 when the plastic cover was still clear, it is now hard, brittle and yellow.....this is along thing sync connector block......1 sync connector to go to camera or wireless unit......I added 2 sunpak 622's to sync block.....each had a different sync cable (one was short and the other sevral feet) and used my SB900 on the stroboframe bracket attached to camera via ttl cable......put RD616 transmiiter attached to camera sync connector and the RD616 receiver attached to the 4-way sync block......got all capacitors charged up and hitthe shutter button......ALL FLASHES FIRED.........so what I was wanting to do will work......but on another thread Ziggy said that the Sigma 530Supers will work in cinjunction with the Nikon CLS system......so I figure if I have more Sigma 530Supers to go with my Sb900 then all with communicate just fine....even using the opo up as commander......if not then I will be falling back to just Viv 285 HV's in manual fireing upto 3 from one RD616 receiver.............

Thanks for the answers and your time......

Art, be aware that the Sigma flashes may not mesh perfectly mixed in with a Nikon flash, meaning that some of the CLS/AWL features may work a bit differently. Other features may not work at all (but I don't think there are any main features missing).

To use the Sigma flashes as remote/slaved you:

    1) Program the flashes on the host camera first and then slide them off the camera and position them remotely. (I think this is the preferred method for those cameras that have a "Commander" flash built-in.)

With this method, if the flash powers off, it looses the settings and you have to reset the flash with the above method. I haven't found this to be a problem, but some folks make a big deal out of it. (All you have to do is trigger the flashes before they power off. If a setup is taking too long, you just take a test shot anyway. Not a biggee.)

In short, I don't want anyone to think that these Sigma flashes work the same as the manufacturer flashes. They do work extremely well if you take the time to learn their system, which I have done.

Here is the Sigma flash (Nikon version) so you can decide for yourself:

Thank you Ziggy....I am ordering a 530 super from BH and a quantum battery cable so I can see if it works as I hope it will.....if it plays nicely with the SB900 and commanding pop up flash then I will be happy.......other wise it will be a combo of sb900 and Viv 285's on RD616 triggers.......and Lastolite Multi-flash bracket adapters..............

I think you will ultimately like the Sigma flash. In addition to the Nikon i-TTL emulation, it also has a manual flash mode and even an optical slave, built-in. Altogether it is extremely versatile.
