these are a few samples of some friday night football.. mainly looking for C&C. or ways to improve.
1. QB ready for toss sweep.
2. Same QB on a swing pass
3. catch in the endzone.
all help welcome .. i am wanting to try to get a well enough organized portfolio to try to get some college shoots.. any help there (with connections) welcome as well
these were all shot with a canon 1d ,70--200 1600iso shutter?
thanks again

#2 seems a bit too static. The guy's getting ready to throw but at this moment he's just standing there holding the ball up. He doesn't have the dynamic tension in his stance that #1 has. A quick burst-mode sequence as he was throwing probably would have yielded a more exciting shot. A bit less DOF would have been nice, too, if possible. I can just about read the largest print on the signs in the background (looks like "TAG AGENCY" in white on the dark sign at top, a bit right of center).
#3 is a great moment and you caught it pretty well, but the framing doesn't look quite right to me. It's too high and too far to the right. I don't like the way the lower portion of the guy with the ball gets cut off.
Other than that, the exposures all look right, and of course lighting at night-time football games can be awful, but even in these reduced-size images I can see a lot of noise. There may not be much you can do about that short of buying a new camera. If you're still using the original 4 MP, vintage 2001 model of the 1D, maybe it's time to upgrade?
Got bored with digital and went back to film.
thanks for the input .. the next shot in the sequence is the one i wanted .i'll change it .. . i guess copy the wrong one .. i have the ball just leaving his hand.the DOF was @2.8 but he was past mid field in the original this is a big crop.. . and the last one i croped to see the intensity in the faces .. the legs are cut off the the original a bit as well.. it was coming right at me ..and i was shooting and backing up at same time.
here's the next frame..
