I like the second one. However, I might recommend coming from a different angle, and a little closer up. If you could have sparks flying from the grinder as a sort of "subject" of the picture, and then your Dad in the background looking down (a very low, acute angle), I think that would be really something.

Thanks for the comments. I like the idea of the other angle but Dad is not much of a poser and at that time of day the sun would have been right in the camera. I'm not that good yet in those conditions
