Who won the standoff?

I really like the first one. Looks like he's ready to attack any moment. The dragonfly shot is amazing and the title is brilliant to that picture.

Is it that bad? Lol
I tried catching this same hoverfly on my 105mm macro lens- about 50 wasted shots later I gave up, but then tried switching to the other lens which has a longer focusing distance and got the above shot.

Thanks Zygote- the camera lens won.
Felt a bit sorry for the dragonfly- it was actually gusting wind which kept folding his wings down making him look like that.

Thanks Phil U and MuskyDude.

I had to get a shot of that hoverfly in flight- it takes great joy in buzzing me in the garden and when I say large that things body is about 1" long.
