Really beautiful model and creative treatment.

The only thing that strikes me wrong about the image is the combination of the selective sharpening and the saturation in the eye shadow, lipstick and rouge. Against the whiteness and softness of the skin it borders on clownish. It may just be my taste, as in a bias against heavy, blue eye shadow. But I think it's just that there's too much contrast in color and sharpness that is jarring me out of the reverie you are otherwise creating for the viewer.

But, man, what a beautiful, composition and pose and lighting concept!

Thanks for the inputs. Actually, I did not do much of selective adjustments on the face at all. I applied this effect throughout her face uniformly including sharpening and saturation. I think the "clownish" thing with a high contrast you are referring to fits photos like these better:

I am of opposite opinion on the high contrast for this particular photo. I personally think that the colors blend in quite nicely with the whites. If it seems like that the eyes are sharper than rest of the image, it's because I shot this with a fairly shallow depth of field with the focus being on the eye closer to the camera.

Absolutely stunning Allen. I think we ought to make you do these challenges with one hand tied behind your back (and a real cheap & nasty p&s) rolleyes1.gif

The photos you linked are definitely what I had in mind when I used the term "clownish". My initial gut reaction was that your image was ever so slightly headed in that direction, which is what I intended with the phrase "bordering on". It's a matter of personal taste, for sure. Since it's your image, naturally your taste rules.

Please know I gave my gut reaction not to offend, but as an honest effort at brainstorming how to make an already incredible image as good as it possibly could be. Thanks for considering my opinion and for so rigorously stating your case against it. I certainly learn through this type of interaction.

Up to your sensational standards! I like the eye and cheek color. It brings me right where I think you want your viewers to go.

    Stunning......again!

You only need one hand to press a shutter button. and P&S vs DSLR means nothing in the hands of a good photographer... so this being the case, I think Allen would still be making beautiful pictures such as this one. :D

No C&C here. Couldn't even begin to see anything wrong. For whatever reason when I first saw it it made me think of an old Carly Simon album...wow! that really ages me. :cry You always seem to find the most beautiful models...what's your secret Allen? Beautiful shot! And the title I think is perfect!
