indeed the tokina 11-16mm works on the D700

    I saw something similar when I tried putting the Canon-mount version of the Tokina 12-24mm f/4 on a 5D Mark II. Looked great at 20-24mm, but started vignetting rather nastily as I zoomed out and the image circle shrank into the full-frame sensor.

    WOW, 15mm on full frame from a DX lens? Are you serious? I mean I'm assuming it's not razor sharp in the corners, and I'm expecting a bit of light falloff, so I won't try and shoot tripod-ed landscapes with it. But for a photojournalism lens, as an alternative to the uber-expensive 14mm prime and the INSANELY expensive 14-24, ...sign me up!!!! 15mm on FX is wider than 11mm on DX!
