Thanks everyone, I appreciate it very much. This was taken at Point Lobos which is just south of Carmel, Ca. I used a 10 stop ND filter over a circular polarizer, it was a 10 second exposure on Bulb. The water is very restless around there so it was perfect for a time exposure. Here's another shot with a little sun peaking thru:

I echo everybody's comments: these are beautiful, the first one in particular –lots of drama, seems like something bad is about to happen :)

An absolute masterpiece! This just shows that an ND-filter is the way to go when it comes to shooting seascapes.

Mitch, perfect! We did have some unusually big swells that weekend but you were definitely in the right location to shoot the water. Inspiring!

Thanks Schmoo! On my drive down, I was cursing the weather, but I'm glad I kept on going because the rain stopped for a good 2 hours that allowed me to take those shots. So many variables in this passion we have and luck is definitely one of them.

Both shots are terrific. I like the drama in the first one but I really like the lighting in the second. The color of the water is exquisite. A lot of folks at the Acadia Shootout were touting ND filters and this is another example of why they do so much. Now, I'd better run out to get mine . . .

    Nicely done!
