WoW - could you share some detail... like....how did you do that? Where its at?
Thanks everyone, I appreciate it very much. This was taken at Point Lobos which is just south of Carmel, Ca. I used a 10 stop ND filter over a circular polarizer, it was a 10 second exposure on Bulb. The water is very restless around there so it was perfect for a time exposure. Here's another shot with a little sun peaking thru:
Mitch, perfect! We did have some unusually big swells that weekend but you were definitely in the right location to shoot the water. Inspiring!
Thanks Schmoo! On my drive down, I was cursing the weather, but I'm glad I kept on going because the rain stopped for a good 2 hours that allowed me to take those shots. So many variables in this passion we have and luck is definitely one of them.
Both shots are terrific. I like the drama in the first one but I really like the lighting in the second. The color of the water is exquisite. A lot of folks at the Acadia Shootout were touting ND filters and this is another example of why they do so much. Now, I'd better run out to get mine . . .
Nicely done!
"But ask the animals, and they will teach you." (Job 12:7)
that is a cool shot sublime! i love the dynamics in the water and the dramatic skies! I would love to shoot that place since you have interesting foreground in there! share more of this scene!
