Playing with Christmas lights

Used some Christmas lights as a background. Think I need more lights.

    Interesting. One thing I noticed is how closely the color of the lights matches her outfit. For some reason it's doing funny things for my eyes and maybe is a bit distracting from the subject.

    Also, I would personally like a little tighter crop on the left. Nice image though overall!

    A few days ago I was at my friends house and he was sitting by a large north facing window with a christmas tree behind him... I had my camera and I couldn't resist getting a few shots. I then thought about creating a backdrop out of them, like you did. I agree that you probably need more, or need to group them together more closely and use a lens with a tighter field of view, or something. They're kind of sparse as it is. It's a great concept though, and I think I'm going to play around with it more myself.

    I could only do a headshot though because the tree wasn't wide enough for anything else.
