My first inclination was "Necking", but now I am thinking "Loving". Need some candid feedback.

Thanks,

Danny

    Hi Dan,

It's a nice Photograph! Did you intend it to be soft and blurry like this so it would fit the title better?

Do you happen to have another shot of them where the tree branches in the background are less pronounced? The reason I say that, they are right where the 2 heads meet and I have a feeling this might be seen as a distraction. Just my opinion of course. Overall, I like it!

I agree with Allen, But for me, the image is strong enough to keep drawing me back to the giraffe's eyes. The first word that came into my head was "comfort'...for what it's worth.

I see that you have darkened the background (and the subject some) which is a good idea because there is a larger separation between your subject and your background. Now, you know what is left for you to fix ... the edges. Zoom way in and start painting over your mask with care to get rid of the halo-like areas that are now created because of it.

Just for the record, I liked the original color of the giraffes better, but if you like it this way, this is cool too.

I assume that you still have your mask saved, so the other option would be to apply some gaussian blur to the background instead of darkening it by this much. Just throwing out a few options out there.

    Dan,
I can't see your second shot--but I love the first.
I have to say for me it works, even with the branches--they are in their element afterall--I wouldn't expect a beauty of a bokeh background, the branches seem fitting--

Love their eyes and the position you caught them in--very touching.

I also like "necking"--just fits because of their long necks and one of the features their most known for.

    My opinion anyway--lovely shot!
