How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

    Hey John,

Good hearing from ya. Osprey's are pretty neat but it can get messy when they are eating. I'm going to take the high road now and not make any reference to Andy. rolleyes1.gif

    Thanks for your response.

I am not like Ben, I don't mind the Osprey, per se, I mind the clarity of the eyes on the osprey. It implys CLOSE, as in long lens.........

I got tired of my ospreys. Both recent times, and the babies were getting bigger and cuter, but both times I set out to take their photos I ended up climbing that bridge w/o water. I felt like I was getting the same shot, over and over. Without more reach, my shots were not going to change that much.

I almost went to take some osprey shots earlier in the week, but we have a situation right now, it is called road work. And with the amt of cars on the rd, well, when I heard they were working on the connector, I just couldn't think of a two mile, two hr drive just to wait two hrs for the ospreys to be interesting.

Sitting here I can think of things I could do, but not going to right now. My male, or whoever, goes off to fish, I can sit there for 2 hours waiting for the bird to come back.:snore When he comes back, he sees me and won't bring the fish for another hour. By then it is pretty ratty. Except once. Once I think we got it right but it was a lot of time spent waiting on it. (While I wait, I shoot:flash , so most of my shots are of little heads/head waiting on the darn fisherbird, too. All on my hard drive.)

So, Harry I do think your Osprey shots are magnificent.clap.gif You are fortunate.clap.gifclap.gif
I do like birds of prey!

(I am getting the 5.6 400 Prime Canon lens, by a trade, sometime in August. If I don't like it, I can trade back.)clap.gif

    gingerthumb.gif

And an annoyance factor: cheerleader.gif (no, no, not you, Lynn, the darn pom poms: the perenial "cheer"fulness, to say the least of the non ceasing beat of the thing) Cute!rolleyes1.gif
After all is said and done, it is the sweet tea.

    Hey Ginger,

I'm glad you liked the shots. I'm lucky that I get to shoot them in the area where they hunt. Good luck with the new lens.

THose birds are so majestic. I hope that is a good word.
Lovely portraits, you really can see all the little bits. Too bad they were hanging around on your harddisk, you could have posted them to us way sooner... Any more birdies lost on your HD?
