How do you compare MyCanvas vs. Blurb? Are they comprable quality, or is one a step above the other? I have purchased directly from Blurb before, and I was pleased. Just wondering how MyCanvass compares to what I''m already familiar with.

Thank you.

I can't help you on the quality but I see that MyCanvass has the on-line book composition program, unlike Blurb's downloadable one.

I had a free coupon for Adorama's new book feature and, although the book was very nice, putting the book together with the on-line bookmaker was a real pain. I only did 20 pages of just pictures and it took awhile. I have cable service so I'm not too slow.

I wouldn't want to fight the on-line composition for a longer project. But that's me.

Thanks for your thoughts, EB. I just finished a new 158 page book with a couple of hundred photos using Blurb's desktop application, and as you would expect, speed and responsiveness was not an issue. The only lag was once I was finished and it was time to upload. I would say that was about a 40 minute process.

    I wouldn't attempt a book that big on line...never.

Because of the slowness of the software. I tried a few changes on a practice book, like moving a photo from one page to another. One time it would go very smoothly. If I try another move it would jump or there would be a delay of a second or two before it moved. Every change or insertion would act differently.

It may be because I have a crappy ISP, but regardless of the reason, the inconsistancy of the speed in editing isn't worth the trouble.

It's much easier for me to use a downloadable program. Or, if you're really good, laying it out in Photoshop. I'm not that good.

OK, I fully understand... I missed the meaning of your previous reply, that you wouldn't attempt a book that big on line. I follow you now, and yes, I absolutely agree.
