Hello all,

My Smugmug link is http://klicksbykat.smugmug.com/ for those who wish to see the bigger shots

I am new to the board and have so many shots I would like to share. I haven't picked one I want to put in the critique thread yet but would just like some feedback on composition, DOF etc. on these. I know the hummingbird is not the best. I was taking the pics from about 30 ft away without a telefoto lens and pushing my zoom to it's limit. I have a Panasonic Lumix DMC-Fz8.

First one: 1/500 ISO 100 F7.1

Third One: 1/600 F/8 ISO 400

Fourth One: 1/640 F7.1 ISO 800

Fifth One: This is a fun one. I shot this from about 40-50 away, my reflection in a window. 1/200 f/3.6 ISO 100

    Welcome :D

I like your hummingbird. Haven't been able to get a photo of one myself yet. Your reflection photo is neat -- do you have a Greyhound dog?

Yes I do, he is a retired racer named Blacktrain.

    That's a pretty recognizable silohuette isn't it?

What do you think of the rest of the shots? Thanks for the hummingbird compliment. I was surprised they came out that decent.

Our friends had a retired Greyhound too and it was a wonderful pet. Bless those that adopt Greyhounds thumb.gif

Your other photos -- Your 2nd photo -- Wish you had turned your camera to the left and taken a photo of the water falling down. Maybe catch a reflection through the waterfall, etc.

Keep taking photos and posting them -- I look forward to seeing more :D
