Starting to figure it out, studio lighting

I have been working on studio lighting since I built a backdrop etc to be able to create more professional portraits. I am using the Nikon CLS, 2 sb800 and 1 sb900 for off camera and the Commander for control.
Experimenting with 2 and 3 lights. My wife had a get together with friends and sister and I shot these:

This last group shot lost a little light on the left and a little overexposed on right. Any suggestions on how to better balance the light? Should I have done it modifying the exposure values on the strobes or what other suggestions would be appropriate?

This is getting to be a lot more fun producing better photos, much thanks to the group in my ongoing learning experience!:barb

Very nice, Deacon. I think #2 is my favorite out of these. 1 and 3 seem to be a bit soft.

In the situation 'as is' for the last shot, I would have turned down the power on the (for you) right strobe a tad probably to even it out a little more.
