Nikon AF-S Teleconverter TC-20E III

Nikon has announced a new 2x teleconverter, with a brand new optical design. The design allows for an aspherical element, not normally seen in teleconverters.

It is designed to be compatible with the following Nikkor lenses:

The teleconverter seems interesting, the 300mm 2.8 is as far as I can tell a VERY minor update to an already spectacular lens, with a $1000 US price jump tacked on for good measure. I'll keep my original 300 2.8 VR thanks.

I have one on pre order with Adorama. Looking forward to it. Have a 1.7 which I use on my 200mm f2 works well. Making it a 400 f4 will be nice.
