I do like the many compositional elements: the beach, the mudflats with the birds, the deeper bay and the bridge. I do feel a bit constricted at the top with the bridge so close to the edge.

Nice depiction of exactly how SF Bay sometimes looks and feels.

I agree, the bridge is too high. I couldn't see what I was shooting & shot blind (figuring I could crop to suit)

I'm not a fan of the LCD as the only viewfinder.

thanks for looking & the comment

There really isn't one subject or cohesion of the various subjects.

I think it would be nice shot from the deck and with more DOF. From that angle, we'd get the birds, mud and a little water which would tie the shot together. More DOF would keep the bridge but far enough back as to add background interest--and the lower angle would make it lower as well.

I agree to everything you say.

But the birds, those inconsiderate bas***rds fly away.

Add to that I couldn't find the way to set aperture priority and I couldn't see the image in the lcd........... :cry, well you should have seen the other four snaps that I deleted.

That P&S drove me to dslr's. I keep it in the car in case I have an accident. I have and it worked fine for that

    :D

Ha ha! I should have read the P&S part :)

I think you'd like shooting birds down at the Palo Alto duck pond. They're used to people now lol3.gif

Hey I might be out of line here but I like the shot as-is! The contrast of blue and yellow is particularly nice, and I like the layers created by the different horizontal elements. ne_nau.gif
