Both of these are very nice shots Randy. clap.gif

In the first one though her hand is quite purple. Might try to rework that area.

    Yo Randy,

More good work here. Even though I'm a known color freak, I actually prefer the B&W treatment of this series.....it's more adept at creating the vintage look. I flew an old plane like that one about a month ago. It belongs to a friend. His is actually the Navy version of that plane....called an SNJ. There are probably more Air Force versions around. They are called the AT6 Texan.

    Take care,

    Tom

Your a pilot? Yet another surprise. Your like an onion Tom: Several layers to be peeled back :D

Man, I would LOVE to go up in one of those! There were three T6's at our shoot.

    Randy,

Yea, I've been flying planes since the early 60's. I've kind of slacked off some over the last number of years, but I flew a lot at one time. I had wanted to be a jet jockey in the Air Force, but a bad back ( injured in an accident ) kept that from happening. Recently, I've considered getting a relatively new class of plane called Light Sport Aircraft....just something to get off the ground and cruise around a little. They're limited to VFR ( visual flight rules ) flying and are designed for " low and slow " going....just something to scooter-poot around in.

    Take care,

    Tom

    Howdy Randy,

WOW Love these, especially that first one and her reflection in the Prop, that's really a nice touch.

The great processing of both images really make them shine!!!

    Very nicely done!!!

Great set! clap.gif You have really got this ageing process perfected. The color versions bring to mind the covers of some Popular Mechanics magazines from the 1940's that I came across while cleaning out my parents home after they passed.

    Randy,
The treatment on #2 is fantastic!
I was trying to enter a shot into the MC6 challenge but I needed the shot to be "aged" looking--in my mind's eye I could see it clearly and your version is exactly what I had in mind.

I like your entire series--but now #2 on this post is my new favorite.

    Randy,
This will attest to just how much I liked #2 that I hopped on the internet and tried to figure out if there was a way to add textures through "picnick" the free editing softward on smugmug.

I was able to add a texture I really liked to my "senorita" shot for the challenge directly thru "Picnick".

I can't believe this is available to me.

Thanks Randy--Your shot was the shove I needed.

That's exactly what my mirror tells me every day rolleyes1.gif

I'm still not there on the "pinup" processing yet, but I think this is moving in the right direction.

Thanks again Jack for the vocabulary lesson thumb.gif

    Thanks for the comments Liz,

You know, if you look at a bunch of old photographs, you'll quickly see that there is a huge spectrum of what "old" photographs looked like. I guess the term "old" covers a lot of time and technology. Some old images are washed-out with little contrast. Others are extreme with contrast ~ blown highlights and plugged shadows.

I think the hard part is choosing a processing that matches what "you" think the image would have looked like. Note that in real life it could have been any of those looks.

Anyway, thanks for looking and the kind words!
