Canon SX20 IS

Anyone have this yet?

Mine should be here tonite.
I wanted something powerful but something I didn't hafta LUG.
I want to do more hikes and Mountain Biking this coming year.
A DSLR was just a bit much to futter with for me.
Good glass is just way outta reach for me financially.
So I gave up my 20D and my last lens.....it was fun while it lasted.

People say you can't do Pro typa pics with a Prosumer Camera.....I will see.
I know you can't use one for studio work!

I stand by what Pro's have told me in the past.....

"It's NOT the Camera that makes the picture it's the person behind the Camera."


Be interesting to see what I can do with 20X zoom (28-560mm)

The Canon SX-1, SX-10 and SX-20 are all pretty interesting. Those and the G-series are pretty advanced digicams. Just the addition of the hot shoe and an external flash and flash modifiers should make your SX-20 capable once you learn the to tame the beast.

Note that ISO 3200 is only available through a Scene Mode.

I do wish it had a RAW mode.

Yeah there was a time when I thought a lil Prosumer Camera was Soccer Mom camera.

After the Glen this year with My Wifes Pro-1 my thoughts have changed.

This SX20 is a more technology advanced box.....zoom is 2x plus that of the Pro-1.
SX20 = 28-560mm Pro-1 = 28-200mm
4 more mega pixies.....ton more features....and was half the $$$.
The Pro-1 in 2004 MSRP was $1000 IIRC
The SX20 MSRP is $400

I can't wait to see what it can do!!
