I would like to ask if anybody has some clever idea about how Flickr users can get exposure to our Smugmug photos.
Let me explain a little better. I like Smugmug for its flexibility, but it is obvious that Flickr has a much bigger customer base. Moreover, Yahoo indexes much more flickr photos than those on Smugmug.
So I have asked myself many times if there is a way to exploit some of Flickr's traffic to gain exposure for my smugmug photos. I have tried uploading a small selection of my photos to Flickr, but it does not seem to generate much conversion traffic.
Then I have embedded some of my smugmug - hosted pictures in Flickr's comments, but this is considered by some Flickr users as spam.
I am sure that others have had similar ideas, so I would like to see if somebody has some helpful tip.
This until the day when smugmug becomes bigger than flickr or it buys yahoo...
