    Wonderful. I especially like #2.

    As for the black and white, I'm guessing that for #1 it helps us see the children (especially the eye contact) without getting distracted by the brightly colored play thingie (term of art).

    #2 is very nice, but would be even nicer with better control over DOF. You want the three subjects' faces sharp while still getting some blur in the background. This takes practice and a bit of luck. Experiment with it.

    aye..I got 3 shots in before they looked at the camera. The aperture was unfortunately very low to begin with.
