Gallery Image Sizes

Candid Arts

In my "Other" category, the gallery images are really big compared to all the other categories.

I remember I did something awhile back to make categories with a certain number of galleries in it, the gallery images bigger, but two separate categories, both with five galleries, have two different sizes. I don't remember what I did, or how to fix this.

Some help would be great. Thank you.

Categories with 5 or fewer galleries in them will use -Th size thumbnails on the category page (150px). 6 or more will use -Ti, (100px).

That's what I thought. But I have two different Categories (Weddings & Other) that both only have five galleries in them. The weddings category shows up the smaller gallery thumbnails and the other category has the larger gallery thumbnails.

The weddings category has 5 galleries and is showing the larger thumbs. The Other category has 6 galleries and is showing the smaller thumbs. That is as expected (one has 6 or more, the other 5 or less).

Yes. I actually just added another gallery to the OTHER category to delete a category that only had one gallery in it. I am going to be doing a bunch of re-arranging here soon, so this should all get resolved and cleaned up.

So I just narrowed my Modeling Category down to four galleries, however the gallery thumbnails are still small. Aren't they supposed to switch to the bigger size if there are 5 or fewer galleries in a category?

The same thing is true for my Personal Projects category, and my Wedding category only has 5 galleries in it but are all the smaller size as well.

The thumbs in the modeling category are the larger variety (long dimension of the thumb is 150px). If you compare them to the ones in the "Other" category, you will see that the modelling thumbs are larger.

I did notice that. However earlier I had a category with four galleries in it, and they were huge, and in a 2x2 format. Not 3 galleries wide.

Is there any coding I can do to make my galleries on my PHOTOS page show larger thumbnails (maybe like 250px?) and/or make them 4 wide, or fill the browser window wide?

You can make them fill the browser width. Search for "stretchy categories" and you will find the CSS for that. You cannot make a regular category page use larger thumbs. Those who want that have to make an HTML gallery with their own HTML in it that makes large thumbs and links them to the right gallery. And, then you have to manually maintain that HTML page if you add/remove categories.
