Hi Everyone,

I am getting out of my comfort zone to post some photos for you to C&C. I took these NYC skyline photos right at dusk during Thanksgiving weekend (thus the Thanksgiving colors on the Empire State Building). We're facing east, with the sun just having set behind us.

I'm 100% self-taught, so any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance your honest feedback.

The first one is fantastic and has great color. The only issues I noticed were:

    1. Everything seems to be leaning a tiny bit to the right.
    2. Some of the brighter whites are a little bit blown out.

I really like the reflections in #3 also. Keep up the good work.

#1 looks a bit soft to me. Good shots however.

Thanks. That's exactly the kind of advice I need to hear.

#1 is my favorite...great colors. Care to share what you shot these with and exif? If you didn't (and have the feature on your camera), try using live view and zoom in to get sharp focus...it's a huge advantage when doing these types of shots.

This is a favorite spot that my family always loves to visit! I like #1 the best too, partially because your subject fills frame quiet well. Also, you caught the light pretty much right at the perfect time when you can see the reflection of the sunset in the buildings. Given a place as shiny as NYC, it really makes a skyline not just nice but really[/]i] great.

I like the first photo the most as well. Nice colors and great lights. I love shooting nightscapes, and it's very hard to get an exposure that doesn't blow out the highlights. Bracket the exposures, keep what you like, and delete the rest. If you enjoy these scenes, experiment with HDR or exposure fusion. You might like the result. Good work!
