Can I keep filename strings from keywords?

In addition to assigned keywords, uploaded files have filenames or parts of filename like "-" suffixes also added as keywords. Can this be prevented? Thanks.

Hi, David. Here is an example. Uploaded filename is ag091006-603-01. For some reason, "603" and "ag091006" were added as keywords in Smugmug. Lightroom only shows other 3 keywords before upload. Used Star*Explorer for upload. This is a common problem.

They just added a new option that disables generating keywords from the filename.

Go into your Control Panel, Settings tab and set Filename Keywording to "Disabled".

Once you change that setting, SM won't dork up your keywords anymore.

Configuring that option seems to be a little buggy, so you might want to close the window and go back into SM after setting it to verify the setting "took". I couldn't get mine to stick and SM had to fix it behind the scenes for me.

Thanks! That new option simply slipped by. Will give it a try. thumb.gif Wish it was retroactive.
