lets see if i did any better .. tighter shots .. different wb.. tell me if the second shot is too distracting with the defenders hands in the face..

1.driving the lane..

2. driving a frame later with hands.. 2 distracting or not?

I think the tighter crops are making for some excellent action shots. The hand in the face in #2 ruins the shot for me (especially comparing to the first).

The white balance is still very sickly green on my monitor. Maybe a custom white balance with a grey card will work? (I shoot in RAW so that I can adjust the WB on my computer).

Both #1 and #3 are keepers.

Very good action, although all but #1 are cropped a bit too tight for me. WB is unacceptable - I wouldn't use these because of it. Hands in face in #2 make it also unacceptable to me. Nice stop action tho.

    Good action
Yes, #2 is a throw away because of the hand
Besides the WB being way off they're also underexposed which adds to the issue. Those two elements really detract from sharp photos with good action.

The crop on 1 is not an issue - I don't find it tight at all. On 2 (if the hand weren't there) the cut off feet are a bit of a distraction so if there were room at the bottom of the frame it would be good but no need for room on the sides or top.

So, fix WB and exposure and you'll be in great shape.

On my monitor the jerseys and shirts look white to grey, so I think the white balance is fairly close. The biggest problem is the underexposure.

Thanks for all the input .. i'll bring up the exposure .. i figured the hands in the face was a scrap .. it's just a frame in th series .. that made me chuckle .. because the defense was all over them that night... and that seem to sum it up.. usually i trash those anyway .. i probably need to check the calabration of my monitor..
