If you use firefox as your browser, there is neat addon that you can right click on any photo image and if EXIF data is emebedded then it will show that data.

Way Cool. Impress your friends by guessing correctly!

Ummm.... There's more than one available. Do you have a like or name or something to help others find what you are talking about?

Does it work on Dgrin? Since Smugmug does not store EXIF in the image itself, the plugin would have to be smart enough to go to the original gallery and pull the data from the info panel there. Not an impossible task, but I haven't seen one so far that will do it. Sure would be nice, though.mwink.gif

Edit: Ahh...I just noticed that you specified "embedded." Ho, hum, been there, done that. I think I have one installed, but I never use it.

I use Opanda for that. Works fine with Firefox.
I only post "O"riginal size from Smugmug, which contains the embedded EXIF. Of course I never post anything bigger than 800px to Smugmug, so original size works well for online posting.

Richard, as long as you don't save meta data in minimized mode, then EXIF data is always embedded. It does go to the pictures "source" though to pick up the EXIF.

OK, so which product are you talking about? I use Firefox with an add-on called EXIF Viewer, but it does not return data from Smuggy. Remember that the images on Smuggy are stripped of EXIF data, which are stored separately and (optionally) viewable only through the Info tab. headscratch.gif

Here's another way to view EXIF info for dgrinners who use Firefox.

The info tab simply reads the embedded EXIF data I believe. I can definietly view EXIF data with the FF EXIF viewer on smugmug images fyi

Great, that's what I want, but I am still not clear on exactly which add-on you are using in Firefox. There are several available that all claim to do the same thing and the one I have does not return anything useful from SmugMug.

Post a link to the add-on, OK? deal.gif

Well I use FxIF, and it does not work on most smugmug images, as there is no EXIF on any images in smugmug except Original. Of course it will show image size and one or two other useless pieces of info.

I too would be interested in which plug in works with smugmug.

my apologies folks...I was confusing smugmug and dgrin. I was getting exif data on dgrin shots but of course not all dginners use smug mug.
