This actually happened to me and I got this image/screen shot from my dash mounted video camera shooting at 30 frames per second and 168 Degree wide angle lens. Apologies for the quality, but I figured it was worth sharing. This occurred in Kandahar on Dec 15th 09. It was buried in the road and was triggered remotely as I came upon it. Now, tomorrow, Dec 17th 09, I am flying home for the holidays. I think it'll be a very good Christmas :wink

You've sort of been given a gift no?
I hope you make the best of it. Merry Christmas.

I will definitely be a very good vacation! Good thing my family don't check this site to see what I post or I would have some explaining to do "but honey...!" Nah...probably better I don't say anything just yet...

I can't possibly improve on Liz's response! Just let me add - may your staggeringly good luck remain with you in the coming year.

Have a great vacation!
It might sound weird to hear this, but I was much more jazzed that I was able to get this on video than I was upset by what happened.
... I'm still peeling potatoes.

Highlights might be a little blown out
Do have an especially wonderful holiday season!
I think both the road and my truck were a little blown out too...but hey, I'm still dancin'! :ivar
I'd like one new pair of underpants and a can of touch-up paint for my up-armored Humvee.
Thanks for sharing

My advice is not to share this picture with your wife and family until you are safely home for good.
Have a joyous holiday!

I totally understand that. That's an awesome shot. I would print two copies, frame one, and send the other in to Magnum with a note attached reading "Don't try this at home."
2nd-Thank God for your time with family
3rd-Thank YOU and so many others for your selflessness in serving our country and helping maintain our freedom--may God keep you always!
