Shot a few pictures on Monday night. Really struggled with WB, got to take my gray card next week.

I like the action in the second shot.

WB is off. The gray card is a good idea but you can also make a custom white balance as well. Do this with an expo disk or even white coffee filter. You might want to set it for each basket depending on conditions.

Have fun on your next shoot! Look forward to seeing more.

I used an expo disc and the coffee filter technique the first two years I shot in gyms, but never got consistent results. These days I just use kelvin presets. Take test shots at various kelvin values and look at your display. You'll dial it in way more efficiently that way than you ever can with an expo disc. You can also take a couple raw shots and figure out your kelvin preset in capture or photoshop for the next time you shoot that gym. Your first 5 minutes at the game should be dedicated to getting your WB set close and nailing your exposure. The rest of the game is shooting. If you get this done effectively, your post will be straight forward, simple, and fast.
