A late night walk around Las Vegas

So after getting lots of pointers from friends here at DGrin, I decided I wanted to see if I could apply the ideas to my phototaking. So on Saturday night going into Sunday morning, I walked around the Las Vegas Strip taking lots of pictures (422 to be exact). However unlike my previous shooting trials, I paused and looked to see what I saw, not taking pictures of everything. I would then experiment with the settings of shutter speed and aperture, making note of the differences and "chimping" them and deciding what I liked and didn't like.

I also got lucky as it started to rain as I was out. I went back to the hotel and grabbed more batteries while it was raining, but the better thing was that the people out walking around was greatly reduced so it was easier for me to set up and try things.

The equipment I used was a Canon EOS Rebel XTi with the stock EFS 18-55mm lens (polarizing filter on it), a Phottix remote trigger, and a Gorillapod. I was walking the Strip between MGM and Planet Hollywood, mainly looking at the new City Center project.

These photos are straight out of the camera, and I am planning on doing processing, but figured I should share some now.

Thanks for looking. Comments are welcome and encouraged. The entire gallery (with watermarks is at http://bradfordbenn.smugmug.com/Travel/Las-Vegas-December-2009/; I moved these to a separate gallery and the watermarks should be gone if I did everything right.)
