these shots taken with my new 70-200 f/4 sweet and light - great carry around anywhere. i also bought your 85 f/ 1.8 from Luckyrwe, the 17/40 f/4 L from John Mueller, the Sigma 50-500 for Zoos and the Canon 100-400 L just to be a wise guy .....
technique, thats so funny!.... hehehe.... if you knew me you would know that I have no technique what so ever... I swear this is true! I look in the viewfinder, i push the shutter release and give a quick little prayer!!! The flash is the standard onboard flash. The camera ( 20D ) makes me look good coz I havent the faintest idea what im doing....

My, you went shopping!!!
I am jealous, it is such fun to use lots of new toys! I am doing a trade thing on my 300 for his 400 with John Mueller, but that will be the middle of next month.
I had the 70-200L f4 on yesterday for just a bit: had to, the darn bird was too close for the 300, and that was after I took the extender off, too. I didn't know that that kind of close happened. GBH in a tree. I wanted that sucker big time. I would shoot, check the exposure, my lenses were all over the ground, (John, not the 300, it never touched dirt, I swear!), tourists were being told to be quiet. I got what I needed. The exposure wasn't perfect, but it wasn't terrible either.
The bird flew away, no photo of that, natch, too much folliage, .
I would love to have some of your toys: as it is I am broke. I would like a steak, too. Charcoal grilled. w/flames. And a salad. an obsession lately.
I am dreaming.............a 500L lens and a steak, never happen.
