Visitor view.

It would be nice if 'Visitor View' showed exactly how, as the name suggests, the visitor sees the page!

I discovered an issue I had no idea existed, because the page 'I' was seeing, was NOT what my 'visitors' were seeing.

The problems stems from my use of the 'Earth' theme which puts a gold-ish gradient on the top and bottom of the page. I turned off the default SmugMug header, and in the Easy Customizer Control Panel created a text banner. Everything looked fine to me when in 'Visitor' view.

It turns out, the little box at the top of the page that tells you that you're in 'Visitor View' was pushing my banner down so that it was visible below the upper gradient. However, it wasn't visible to my visitors (since they don't have that box pushing it down) because it was under the gradient. I only discovered this after I logged out and viewed my page.

I ended up having to create my own banner instead of using the text banner created with the Easy Customizer.

Just a heads-up...

Edit: While I'm at it, I'd like to know if the page looks ok to those using IE.

Thanks,

Robert

I never use visitor view. Yes, it's a shortcut, but...

I recommend using two different browsers, one logged in, and one logged out. I use Firefox and IE8. Any two is fine - they just need to be different browsers, not different windows using the same browser.

Your banner does not show in IE8. It's OK in Firefox, but not in IE.

    Good call.

OK, I changed the CSS code. If it still doesn't show in IE it's probably the page breaks I used to get the banner below the gradient.
