SF Bay Area workshops or classes?

As a long time picture taker but first time DSLR owner, I have taken the time to familiarize myself with basic photography/exposure concepts and camera controls, and am happily snapping away trying to apply all this new knowledge to my photos.

That being said, I'd really like to take some sort of hands-on class or workshop which concentrates more on real-world application than theory.

Does anyone have any recommendations for classes or workshops in the greater San Francisco area that fits this description? Ideally something where you are expected to have a basic understanding of exposure concepts (aperture, shutter speed, ISO, etc.) going into the class.

Thanks!

I don't know him, or have taken any classes from him, but Tom Upton teaches some classes in the bay area which ranges from the basis to a beyond the basis. K&S also sometimes have classes and canon, nikon, tammy, etc. will even sponsor some workshops.

It really depends on your shooting style and your preferred method of learning. In general, you can easily find a meetup group, flickr group or dgrin group and go out and shoot.
