Can someone direct me to a help file or other resource that discusses the purpose and differences between terms I've seen in various posts discussing the format of SmugMug URLs:
galleryID, albumID, albumKey, NiceName, etc.

Thank you.

    In this URL:

    http://jfriend.smugmug.com/Kenya/Highlights/Landscapes/5608869_vwzCG#344291068_HdnTo

Kenya is the nicename for the category
Highlights is the nicename for the sub-category
Landscapes is the nicename for the gallery
5608869 is the gallery ID (or albumID)
vwzCG is the gallery key (or albumKey)
    344291068 is the image ID
    HdnTo is the image key

Hi, on http://smugmug.com/help you can use the help search, type in nicenames and find a bunch of pages:

    http://www.smugmug.com/help/online-photo-gallery is the first one.

maybe this visual will help better on the rest of the stuff?

That's because I spent the whole week on east coast time and haven't gotten adjusted back to west coast time yet. Falling asleep at 10, waking up at 4. Nice graphical reply though. You sure beat me on aesthetics.

East coast, West coast... you guys are concerned with who replied the fastest AND you both provided me with the information that I needed. This is the kind of community and service that made me choose SmugMug in the first place!

    Thank you both!! thumb.gif
