Hope you enjoy these from yesterdays, RITCA Coaches Invitational meet.

It does suck having to shoot at ISO3200, especially when that is even not fast enough at times for f/2.8 and f/2.0...but I always need something to complain about!

George.

    Hello George

Good captures on 1, 3 and and 4. I'm not a fan of the backs on 2 and 5.

You have lots of good pictures on your website.

Looks like you made the most of the lighting with some excellent panning of the runners in 1 & 3.

    Different looks
    Hi Terry,

    Thanks for the feedback.

After shooting 10s of thousands of track and field shots, I am always looking for different angles - I understand your point but to me they are interesting because they are different, if that makes sense. I am aware that parents will not buy these but you have to challenge your mind while shooting several thousand images in an afternoon!

I hear ya, after getting all the "selling shots" you need to try something different.. an idea for # 5 is maybe to shoot it vertically, showing her legs and conveying the power of her running stride or of her start.

Were they running on a 200meter track?

    the need to crop
    Terry,

That particular shot was cropped high to exclude her rear-end!! I have to very careful both with what I shoot and even more so with what I publish when working with young female athletes, even if I have to comprose the beauty of a shot.

One of my greatest shots, is of a high-jumper in a body popping lycra body-suit but I caught too much detail (every thing was covered but the lycra was revealing) as she arched over the bar....if she was a couple of years older it was 'cover' quality, but it didn't get past the edit stage because of here age.

I cannot afford a single complaint. I must, and do, respect the younger female athletes.

Still, I ma happy with much of what I shoot.

    thx again for the feedback.

    George.
