    Do you have PSE6? Photoshop?

Depending on what OS X version you have etc there are several good general image editors like Pixelmator and Acorn. Depending on your needs there exists a number of specialized applications available. I suggest that you visit www.macupdate.com and search/browse for an application.

Personally I use Pixelmator, Acorn, PhotoStyler and Picturesque depending on what I want to do.

Photoshop has proved to be an overkill for me and I dislike the user interface of Photoshop/Photoshop Elements.

Since I'm unfamiliar with those apps I can't comment. I used PSE6 (on my Mac running OS X 10.5) because I already had it and there were good instructions on how to use it on the Smugmug Help site. I have only two plain banners so PSE6 worked fine for me. If you want to go deeper you might want to consider the others.

But please post your choice on here so we can all be guided

For quick stuff you can use the free, online editor Pixlr. Interface is somewhat like Photoshop.

    Gimp is free, too.
