I am trying to organize my photos for display in on my SmugMug galleries. I am starting to get a little overwhelmed. I am trying to get it down to about 15 galleries that cover all of my photos. Like people, structures, nature. My thing is like for nature, should I have nature or should I separate photo into flowers, mountains, trees, birds, ect. I would like a gallery for black and white also which I don't think would need to be subcategorized. What works for you? A lot people say by date but I want to treat my site like a gallery with separate rooms on subject matter. Help, ideas please. Thanks

Even if you are not paranoid, they may still be watching you.

My rule is to organize by whatever makes the number of photos in the gallery "reasonable". I like to keep the galleries with maximum of 60 photos (though some are above that).

You might find it less overwhelming if you organized your site by category instead of by gallery. Then you can work out some logical groupings.

See http://www.smugmug.com/help/upload-photo and http://www.smugmug.com/help/arrange-albums. And keep in mind that you can define your own categories (and subcategories) - you don't need to stick to the standard categories defined by smug.

Look around at some other smugmug sites to get a sense of how others have organized their sites.
