sb600 and sb900

Thanks for checking out the thread...

I have been using the sb900 as an off camera flash with my d90 and it's been working great.

I use the d90 in commander mode with the sb900 on remote. I recently purchased two sb600s. I have been able to sync one of them with my d90, but can't find "group c" in my menu to sync the last 600 to the d90...

Is this possible? I'd like to use my camera as the master with the three slaves, but I just can't seem to get the 3rd flash in there?

...will I need to use the sb900 as the master? I think I can figure out how to set the other two to be slaves to the 900, but then how do I tell the d90 that I want the 900 to be the master?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. THANKS :)

    Welcome to DGPF!

According to my information, the D90 (in Commander mode) only has Groups A & B available (as well as Channels 1, 2, 3 & 4).

You could always put the SB-900 on the camera (or use an SC-29 cable) and use the 900 as a master with the 2 SB-600s as slaves…

PS: you could use an SU-800 on the camera body

You can use more than one flash per group, you just won't be able to adjust the output separately. Using the SB-900 as a commander would give you 3 groups to use, but of course then you'd need a 4th flash to use that ability.
