Last week i was in my living room when I heard a knock at my door. I answered it immediately but no one was there. But this is what I saw.

    That bad huh?
Just came across this. The compression artifacts detract from them, but the last one seems not "that bad." I would have given the last one more space (a shorter focal length to allow for more sky) and they seem too heavily processed for my tastes.

That is one SWEET looking sky! I'm more than a little jealous you got that out your backdoor! I saw a similar sunset this evening, unfortunately I was stuck in traffic on the freeway and not out photographing it!

I'm seeing the artifacts in the image also, but I'm far from an expert so I can't pinpoint the reason for you, but keep an eye out that you're not oversharpening the photos our compressing them too much before uploading. Either of those could cause the artifacts to show up.

As for the compositions, the foreground is a little to busy to my eye, too many trees and branches against that awesome sky. Next time you see a sunset like that, try isolating just one tree against the sky. The lone silouhette will make it easier for the viewer to find the subject and the eye settle on a spot, rather than searching around looking for a place to rest.

Yeow what a sunset! So opportunity was knocking, eh? Glad you answered it. It would have been a shame to miss a view like that. :D

Five years later and I wish I had been a better photographer at the time.
