I spent an hour outside today in the cold and snowy Minnesota Northland taking a few pictures of the fresh snowflakes. The pictures are taken in the cold with my Canon 5D Mark II attached to a microscope.
More snowflake pictures can be viewed in my Snowflake Gallery.

    FAbulous shots.

Are you willing to share some info on your set-up? what lens? How did you attached the camera to the scope?

I have a pretty decent microscope and have wondered for a long time how to connect.

    Nice work.

    snowflake books
DEnnis, you might like to take a look at two books (geared toward children). One is Snowflake Bentley about the photographer who first photographed snowflakes from the loft of a Vermont barn. He published thousands of images of snowflakes.

The second is A Drop of Water by photographer Walter Wick (He published the I Spy series with Scholastic Books...awesome photography.)

These are pre-digital days and well worth the look.
