The pink in the flare is not working for me.

The lens flare in general is not looking so good to me. I don't really think any amount of post-processing is going to make this image really strong. You can't see the subjects' faces, which is almost always a requirement for a good shot of a person.

Lens flare has to come from the sun, the sun is from the right the flare is from the left HMMMMMM.
If it were me I would save the time and move on to another photo.

+1 You have to have the right pic (+ right mood in the pic) to do a good lens flare.
