nice shot!
but.. what's it for?
If we attend continually and promptly to the little that we can do, we shall ere long be surprised to find how little remains that we cannot do. - Samuel Butler
Besh Ba Gowah is an archeological site believed to be home to the Hohokam and Rio Salado Indians in the 1600's. It was discovered in 1883 and excavated in the 1920's where they uncovered the nearly 200 rooms and 350 burial sites. The site was neglected from the 1940's to 1980's before a Globe city council member made the motion to protect the site.
The annual luminary festival is a celebration of the sites past with story telling, musical performances, and native dances performed by the White Mountain Apache's. More than 1600 luminaries are lit by hand to light up the walls of Besh Ba Gowah. The event is free with donations accepted to help with the care and maintenance of the site.
